PRAYER - Blessing Way
O Great One, I come before you in a humble manner, giving thanks for all living things in Creation. I offer the clarity of my mind, body, spirit and natural space in prayer to you, O Great One, for the spirit of all Creation. I offer thanks and what gifts I have to Four Sacred Directions and powers of the universe and I pray: To the spirit of fire in the East, To the spirit of Earth in the South, To the spirit of Water in the West, To the Spirit of Wind in the North.
I pray and give thanks to you O Great One. I pray and give thanks to Mother Earth, Father Sky, Grandfather Sun, Grandmother Moon, and all of our relations in the Greater Circle of Life. I thank you for your power, energy, wisdom and sacred gifts, because without you and the guidance of all my relations, I would not be able to live, and love, and grow, and feel and learn. I ask that I be shown another way if I have ever harmed or hurt other living things. I pray, offering what gifts I have, that you may guide us, heal us, purify us, and protect us. I pray for all of our relations that we may exist together in harmony and balance. "Wah Doh" J.T. and Michael Garrett
Siyo Dear Friends of Full Circle:
The Theme of the 2018 Full Circle is “Cherokee Teachings of looking back and seeing forward. It will be held at the Chestnut Tree Inn in Cherokee, North Carolina on September 21-23, 2018. Registration will start at 6:30 pm on Friday evening in the circle with drumming at 7:00 pm in the Hotel Conference Room.
The earlier Cherokee felt we are the makers of our own destiny. This Fall Full Circle helps to guide us on a journey to be in touch with our natural memory with guided awareness in the sacred circle.
Our weekend path and teachings of myths and legends include drumming and song-chants. We will visit sacred places in the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. The ancient teachings help connect us to our past and guide us as we seek harmony and balance.
We are learning more about diverse strength and heightened awareness of the Ancient Ones. Our journey helps bring us back to memories of the ancient teachings. The Cherokee connection with the Red Paint People is now being re-learned from archaeological finds and DNA work. We will explore some of these findings.
I look forward to bringing these teachings to you in a circle and group setting with activities to heighten our awareness and learning.
Sgi! - In Harmony and Balance,
J.T. Garrett, Member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
